I read on the internet how the sweet potato plant can be saved for spring planting.
We snipped some runners, cut them to 5-6 inches long, put them in a small jar and place them in some sun. My first ones rooted good in about a week. It was then potted using good miracle gro potting soil. Some will be in the garage in a south window for good sun exposure. One pot is in the house sitting in a patio door with good light. We will see how this does.

Interesting. I always think about doing this, but never do. I'm going to try to keep my geraniums indoors this winter. I hope it works.
Thanks for sharing this helpful info. I gathered some cuttings before the freeze and will give it a try. Hoping to have several starts for spring planting.
Just now seeing this post. How did they do? It will be time to cut them again soon to save. I sure spent a lot of $$$ on flowers this year. Would be nice to already have them come spring. Mikal
